Today On Adventures With God: What Role does Our Own Choice Play In Our Salvation? (4:30pm MT)9/27/2017 Ways to Watch:

As a kid growing up, we were always taught about how awesome God was and his ability to draw people to his heart and change them. Or we hear of people wanting to do something foolish in the middle of the night and they turn on the TV to see someone speaking to them directly and they give their life to Christ. The greater norm in everyday life is you. Did you realize that the way you drive is a witness? The way that you react to a situation around people who don’t know Jesus is a witness. The ethics in your business and how you make you money will witness to every single person you come in contact with. Social media is an extension of who you are so what is the “extension” of your personality saying to world? Do the things you post reflect the love of Christ The programming that we decide to put over the air as Rocky Mountain CTN is a witness. The question I have for all of us today is are we making it easier or harder for people to get to heaven and make a decision to follow Christ? The Holy Spirit is always doing his part to draw men and women to him but our actions will either fight against those plans or help make a reality. I love the first chapter of Psalms. 1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. 2 But they delight in the law of the LORD, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. 4 But not the wicked! They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind. 5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment. Sinners will have no place among the godly. 6 For the LORD watches over the path of the godly, but the path of the wicked leads to destruction. Such GREAT instruction for us today to make sure that we are doing everything we can to understand the associations we keep, the power of the Bible in our lives and the outcomes of following Christ or denying him. Today, think of not just your speech and personal interaction that needs to reflect Christ but every action and social media post that people see. The world is only getting smaller and more connected which makes it easier to reach people for Christ but also easier to help stand in the way of people who need to find a real, loving and life-giving God. Have a great week! Brian General Manager - Rocky Mountain CTN 1) We are God's Masterpiece= That makes us superior not inferior

I can remember being in Royal Rangers (Christian Boy Scouts) growing up and learning how to read a compass and being able to find my way around in the wilderness. They were invaluable skills that I still use today when I am out hiking with friends. No matter how much tech I have on me, I usually always have a standard old school compass that doesn’t need batteries and will work in any situation.
Think about your life and what you use for direction. Is it your feelings? Is it the words from other well-intending people in your life? Or is it the Bible. Our culture is relative in its belief system. Meaning, that whatever you think or feel is right then do it. Think of this simple fact; if you remove the Bible from your life, what else do you have to direct what you do, say or focus on? Everything else is just a feeling or opinion of someone else. It is like getting lost in the woods and just walking where you think you need to go without using anything for direction. Or, seeing someone else who is also lost in the woods and them trying to tell you a bunch of directions for you that are actually to their house and not your own. The Bible is the most powerful compass on this earth that was given to us by God to help guide and direct us past our emotions and into truth. The key is being able to read and study it in the correct context as well and not try and make it say what we want it to. When I was growing up and learning how to use a compass, if I used it incorrectly then I would fail at proper navigation and get lost. You had to set the correct coordinates, pick a spot straight ahead, keep your eyes on that marker and then walk the appropriate distance until the next coordinates. The same is true with the Bible. There are so many great study tools for the Bible online that we can access to help us read and study the Bible in context. When we use the Bible correctly, there is nowhere we cannot go and no heights we cannot climb in life. Psalms 119:105 says that the Bible is “...a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” The Bible helps us see where/who we really are (a lamp for our feet). It is not just good for illuminating our personal lives and where we stand, but also a necessary tool for helping us get to where we need to be (a light for our path). Today, make a point to get the Bible into your heart and life and thank God today for such a powerful tool for effective living and life-giving direction in this dark and confusing world. James 3 is a powerful passage of scripture that gives us teaching on how we should be living our lives as it pertains to the outflow of our hearts and specifically our words.
Maybe you have an upheaval in your family, place of work or the tumultuous situations in our country are getting to you, let’s be careful to not let our emotions drive our speech, but the Heart of the Father. Even if we don’t like what we see, we should never be cursing a person, our response should be taking them before the throne of God and praying the heart of God over them. Here are some examples of good things to pray: God I pray that they have a heart after You, that if there are blinders on that keep them from the truth that you would remove them, that this person would fully know and come into alignment with your decisions and your love. Give them courage to make the changes necessary. Holy Spirit draw them to have an encounter with the heart of the Father. Love should be the driving force on how we treat people and Love should be the driving force on what we speak over people. I encourage you to read all of James 3 and let’s always be wise to make adjustments according to what the Holy Spirit brings to light in our lives. Living for Him and only Him! Yolanda Assistant Manager @ Rocky Mountain CTN Each week we like to highlight a program. Some of you may have never watched Pure Passion. It plays on Tuesday nights at 9pm and Saturday's at 9:30pm MDT.
Tonight's program highlights the tragedy of Pornography and Sexual Addictions and the victory you can have over these things that Satan uses to destroy our lives. There have been floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, blood moons and solar eclipses. So many rumblings from the earth for humanity to deal with that you have to wonder if we are literally seeing Biblical prophecy fulfilled...or are we?
It always fascinates me how Christians try and interpret the “signs in the heavens” when some kind of catastrophe happens. It is also interesting to hear people who don’t know Christ say that it is the earth reacting because people don’t believe global warming exists and/or blaming it on president Trump. The Bible definitely talks about “signs in the heavens” but haven’t there been signs since Jesus walked the earth? I think a bigger question should be asked as we see these events unfolding in our lifetime. If these ARE all signs that point to Jesus’ return, would we do anything better/more knowing that our time on earth would be coming to an end? OR, if we think these things are only more of the same, would we do LESS to make Jesus popular in our lives and the people we interact with on a daily basis? I think our human “bend” is to match effort with outcome. If we think that something is going to happen sooner than later, we will make the appropriate changes in our lives to accommodate. I am not saying this is for everyone, but I am only speaking from personal experience and evaluating my own life. Ultimately, to me, the signs we see in the heavens and on the earth are opportunities for us to evaluate our relationship with Jesus and to make sure we are as passionate about sharing Christ with everyone no matter what we do or don’t see. I am not saying that we need to ignore the things we see happening in our world, but I do think we need to be careful not to assume that social media posts about our guessing why these things happen will change people and help them see Jesus. The best way to help people see Jesus is to love them unconditionally and then meet a practical need. Maybe we need to donate money to one of the clean up efforts helping with the hurricanes. When people ask you why you are doing these things, you tell them that it is because of Jesus and His love for them! Those acts of love will have the power of at least 4 SETS of blood moons! Haha Now go out and love on people today and watch their hearts and lives move towards Christ and his purpose in their lives! |
